Friday d' 13th

Prayer before the Class begin

Prayer before the Class begin
by: Wilhelm L. Orozco

God the Father
Creator of all things
living and no-living
true source of light and wisdom
enlighten our heart and mind
to follow your will today
help us to avoid confusions
and lead us to clarification
let your sublime wisdom
penetrate our humanity
and your light
shine our dark parts
give us the source of inspiration
that we may become also
an inspiration to others.

we ask this through Christ our Lord
AMEN.

On-line class VS Traditional class

They say that “Action speaks louder than words” I do believe in these quotes, but not at all time.

In education, both the teachers and the learners learn from one another. But how can this be? Is it through the online classes or from the traditional one?

I was quite frightened when I read the article about the online classes. The first thing that comes from my mind is a big question, “how it would be effective?”

In the first article that we have read, it is about the connection of education and technology, as well as the usage of technology in terms of quality in education. Generally I am against in the first article that we have read, because I see the importance of teacher and interactions. In our Education subject, we discussed about the interaction and from this I would proudly say that interaction is more effective if it has empathy both on the side of the teachers and the students. So now, the question is how it would be happen on the online classes? That thing makes me say that I am against with the online classes.

How important in terms of teaching is the traditional one? First let me go back to what I have quoted in the first sentence. “Action speaks louder than words” yes it’s true especially in teaching. How would you know that your student has a problem if it is in the online classes? How would you sense that your student is tired for you to adjust your lesson? And lastly, how would you know that your student acquired your lesson? For me it is not enough that the student express their feelings, thoughts, and plans through their words, what it is important for me is the action, because from the action you can already know how they are and from that you can sense whether both you and your students are developing empathy. In line this Don Bosco says “Watch how the youth play sports it show the character of the man”. It’s only proving that action speaks louder than words and it’s true. So to conclude this matter I am glad to say that traditional teaching or maybe including the traditional class is very relevant to the learners and teachers wherein they both learn to each other trough acquiring empathy.

Regarding my reflection about the quotation "Our students are quite busy with many other activities, suc as YMCAs, social clubs and sporting leagues that provide them with many opportunities to socialize with their peers," said Fancher. I agree with Fancher, because like what I have said in my early part of my reflection interactions is important, because without interaction is like a ballpen without ink, it’s useless. Interaction has a big part in education; it’s helping the students to learn more not only in academic but also a values.

what i want to write about...

I want to write something about my feeling of being disturbed. I feel that my humanity is being disturbed. In what way you asked? Well it’s the feeling of these insurmountable challenges this school year. Well at least for me it seemed that way. I feel my inner thoughts questioning my very soul and my entire person whether I could go beyond all of them.

A question is being asked, but my answers were not satisfied in my question. To conclude this disturbing inquiry I should have to find, something which I need to do in order to surpass this challenges of mine.
